Newlon signs Strategic Partnership agreement with the GLA

19th Jul 2019

We are proud to announce that we have signed a Strategic Partnership agreement with the Greater London Authority (GLA).

This recognises our commitment to deliver 1,265 new affordable homes by 2022, with 88% being truly affordable.

We currently provide 8,000 homes across north and east London and have been one of the capital’s major providers of new affordable homes for many years. This includes delivering highly successful major regeneration programmes in Arsenal and Tottenham.

Achieving Strategic Partnership status demonstrates our ability to contribute towards meeting housing need in London and is a significant achievement for an organisation of our size.

Jules Pipe, Deputy Mayor for Planning, Regeneration and Skills said: “The work of Newlon Housing Trust has already made a huge difference to the capital, delivering genuinely affordable homes that Londoners so desperately need. The Mayor is using all the resources and funding at his disposal to tackle the housing crisis, including our new support package for small and medium housing associations. Our new strategic partnership will help Newlon go even further, providing hundreds of people in north and east London with a home to finally call their own.”

Mike Hinch, Chief Executive of Newlon Housing Trust, said: “We are very pleased to have been confirmed as one of the GLA’s strategic partners. The additional funding and flexibility will enable us to deliver over a thousand new affordable homes for people in housing need across north and east London.”
