Property Litigation Surveyor (two year fixed-term contract)

Description

Newlon Housing Trust is a successful charitable housing association and one of the major providers of new affordable housing in north and east London.

In this role, you will play a leading role in managing the surveying function in property litigation and complaint cases, acting as a proactive liaison between customers and other departments and that cases are dealt with in a timely and proactive manner. You will write in depth inspection reports, schedule of loss and photographic schedule for all legal cases and act as Newlon’s expert witness in court.

Overseeing works related to legal cases, you will manage the delivery of agreed repairs and improvements to properties and maintain and manage the stock condition and asset databases, providing accurate and insightful information on stock condition and future investment requirements.

You will need to be a Chartered RICS Surveyor with proven experience of preparing expert reports and of acting as an expert witness in court. You will also need to have substantial post graduate experience of working in residential property asset management and maintenance and have a track record of successful budget and programme management.

Up to date and in-depth knowledge of housing law and regulations is essential, along with excellent knowledge of Health and Safety standards relating to the property industry and the ability to manage a range of contractors and work positively and effectively with customers who have raised complaints.
