Support for residents

Newlon runs a variety of services, projects and activities to support their residents. Our aim is to help build strong communities.

Main areas of support

Welfare and financial inclusion – we support residents who have questions about benefits or need help to apply for them. We also support residents who need assistance with finances, debt or rent arrears. We can offer advice to residents who are facing financial hardship and we can refer them to external services.

Community facilities – we provide local halls and spaces for residents to take part in health and wellbeing programmes and other community activities. The two main spaces are the Barnsbury Community Centre in Islington and Lascar Wharf in Tower Hamlets. There are free or low cost activities available at the Barnsbury Community Centre for all Newlon residents who would like to take part in health and wellbeing activities.

Getting involved – we encourage and support residents to become involved and provide them with opportunities to meaningfully influence and shape the decisions we make about how we manage and look after their homes. We want to make the experience of residents getting involved with us as easy and effective as possible.

Wellbeing – Wellbeing is commonly defined as ‘the feeling of being comfortable, healthy and happy in your own skin’. At Newlon we take our residents’ wellbeing very seriously.

Support with employment – important update

Unfortunately we are no longer able to offer information, advice and guidance regarding employment to our residents. The final day of this service was 5th April 2024.
