Business Improvement and Compliance Officer

Description

We’re a fast-growing and successful charitable housing association and one of the major providers of new affordable housing in north and east London. And right now, we’re looking for a Business Improvement and Compliance Officer to join us.

This is an opportunity to join us and play a crucial role in ensuring we are consistently meeting our business ambitions by helping us to keep track of performance and making sure that we implement our Corporate Plan in a timely and effective way. You will ensure that the planning process is well supported, assisting with the development of our annual plans and making sure that targets are clearly recorded and communicated to staff. We hope that you will be able to help us identify opportunities for improvement for future plans by using your data analysis skills and initiative.

You will also have an important role to play in helping us to manage our risks. As well as carrying out risk reviews yourself, you will coordinate the internal audit process, working with senior managers and audit partners to deliver a plan of audit tests to ensure compliance with relevant law, regulation and policy. You will need to be confident enough to make recommendations for improvements and agree corrective actions where necessary to ensure we continue to meet relevant standards.

Accountability is a very important part of your role so you will regularly check progress with managers and where tasks are overdue, you will ensure delays are explained and corrective action is agreed.

You will also need to have good attention to detail as you will have a role to play in ensuring that we consistently comply with data protection rules by assisting the Data Protection Officer to respond to requests for information.

This role requires excellent organisational and time management ability as well as the tenacity and oversight to stay on track and ensure that tasks are seen through to completion. Previous experience of working in a similar role in a similar housing organisation would be advantageous, but more important is your ability to understand and interpret information such as regulatory guidance, performance information and large data sets.

In return, you can expect 27 days holiday, a non-contributory pension, excellent benefits and flexi time. You’ll also be working out of purpose-built new offices that form part of the award-winning Hale Village regeneration project, and are situated just two minutes’ walk from the major transport interchange at Tottenham Hale.

Closing date: Friday, 30th April
Assessments: Between Tuesday, 11th May – Friday, 14th May (Virtual)
Interviews: Monday, 24th May & Tuesday, 25th May (Virtual)
