Health and Safety Officer

Description

Newlon Housing Trust is a successful charitable housing association and one of the major providers of new affordable housing in north and east London. And right now, we’re looking for a Health and Safety Officer to join us.

Working with our Executive team and managers, you will provide advice and guidance which will ensure that Newlon meets its statutory, regulatory, legal and moral responsibilities for the health and safety of our key stakeholders. Ensuring that appropriate health and safety procedures are in place, you will ensure procedures are implemented across the organisation and work with departments to develop and deliver Health and Safety programs and action plans.

You will have responsibility for the reporting, recording and monitoring of health and safety incidents and accidents and will carefully manage budgets to ensure training can be provided.

Having substantial experience of working in a similar role, you will be qualified to NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and be a full member/chartered status as a recognised health and safety professional with IOSH, IIRSM or an equivalent institution. With excellent knowledge of up to date UK legislation and law relating to Health and Safety, you will be a confident communicator, able to deliver information effectively and formulate and develop policies and procedures as required.

We are currently introducing hybrid working with two days per week being office based and three days home-working for most roles. Our purpose-built offices form part of the award-winning Hale Village regeneration project, and are situated just two minutes’ walk from the major transport interchange at Tottenham Hale.
