Description

Newlon Housing Trust is a successful charitable housing association and one of the major providers of new affordable housing in north and east London.

Your role will be to take the lead in the quality control of the design and construction of capital building work. You will review designs and technical information and liaise with Property Services and Housing Management teams on any technical issues. You will also oversee the management and implementation of construction quality, conducting key stage, functional and finish inspections, identifying non-compliance and areas for improvement, ensuring the maintenance and improvement of Resident satisfaction.

You will have the opportunity to influence decision making at all stages from setting technical requirements through planning, detailed design and construction to completion, handover and the resolution of defects.

With membership of CIAT, CIOB, ICWCI, or RICS, you will have significant relevant experience, gained preferably within the housing sector working as either a Quality Manager, Inspector, Clerk of Works, Architectural Technician or Building Surveyor with a site/ inspection role. You will also have demonstrable experience of auditing design and construction information prior to commencement of works contracts.

Not only will you be an experienced and talented construction professional but your broader skills, commitment to diversity and values driven way of leading will mean that you stand out from your peers.

In return, you can expect 27 days holiday, a non-contributory pension, excellent benefits and a flexi scheme.  We currently offer the opportunity to work up to 2 days at home (depending on the role). You’ll also be working out of purpose-built offices that form part of the award-winning Hale Village regeneration project and are situated just two minutes’ walk from the major transport interchange at Tottenham Hale.
