Trainee Building Surveyor

Description

Newlon Housing Trust is a successful charitable housing association and one of the major providers of new affordable housing in north and east London.

Working closely with our Head of Service, and Property Services Team, you will assist in the delivery of Newlon’s planning and reactive work streams. Producing regular property management reports, you will ensure that data is analysed and reported to the management team and will play a key role in assisting the smooth running of works between different teams.

You will be the lead on all party wall requests and will also actively monitor open inspections and ensure all property repair records are maintained and updated efficiently. You will also be required to assist with the verification of works below £5,000 and will work with supervisors to ensure works are delivered on time and to the high standards that Newlon requires.

You will need to have previous proven experience of working in the property/Housing sector and demonstrable experience of writing in depth reports and for general project management. A good knowledge of housing sector law and regulations will be essential, along with understanding of industry standards, HHRS and general Health and Safety relating to the property industry.

A good team player with cool head under pressure, you will be able to work across multiple work streams and build positive working relationships with customers and colleagues.
